Ernesto Marcheggiani
Professor Ernesto Marcheggiani is a tenured academic at the University of Marche Univpm in Italy and honoured visiting Professor at the University of Leuven KUL in Belgium since 2010.
He taught planning, rural buildings and geomatics. With a Ph.D in spatial planning and rural development as well as more than twenty-five years of academic and professional experience, he is specialist in regional cohesion, territorial development and landscape. As scientific advisor and project-manager his expertise on European Union’s financial instruments, structural funds and grants is being enriched by more than ten years of close participation at the activities of the European Commission and by an active academic international life, as acknowledged by more than hundred publications in peer reviewed journals and proceedings and a portfolio of successful grant proposals.
